dexthageek Posted August 31, 2006 Share Posted August 31, 2006 I installed OSX 10.4.3 last night and it was working perfectly (except for freeze on reboot which I can deal with). This afternoon I was watching a video on youtube when the sound stopped, volume control disappeared. I restarted the computer it did not come back. I deleted the kextcache and restarted still nothing. Im at a complete loss on this one. System Specs: Abit AA8XE Intel Chipset i925 AC97 HD Audio 1GB DDR II RAM If anyone has any ideas on why this would happen it would be greatly appreciated. If you need more information just ask. And I did try to repair permissions there were some permissions it fixed, however it did not bring my sound back. Im gonna try and find out what kext it is using. So I can further track down the problem. Thanks for the info. I wish I could just go buy a Mac Pro, but waiting a few months to see if Apple releases the 20'' iMac with the Duo 2 (i want 64bit leopard ) If anyone has any ideas on what i can try to resolve this audio problem it would be greatly appreciated. Its sparatic and I dont see any kext fail during boot when it does not work Im going crazy!!!
