Snow Leopard on HP DV6T Quad (Sandy Bridge)

I've been away from the osx86 project for a while, so I'm still trying to get things figured out again, so please forgive my ignorance...

 

I'm looking to get Snow Leopard (or Lion) on my new HP DV6T Quard Edition:

• 2nd generation Intel® Quad Core i7-2630QM (2.0 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) w/Turbo Boost up to 2.9 GHz

• 1GB GDDR5 Radeon HD 6770M Graphics [HDMI, VGA]

• 6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)

• 750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive

• 15.6" diagonal Full HD HP Anti-glare LED Display (1920 x 1080)

• Blu-ray player & SuperMulti DVD burner

• Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN with Wireless Display Support

 

Does anyone have any tutorials or way to help me get this going? I've looked at the Mammoth tutorial, but it doesn't work with the Sandy Bridge right? Will Snow Leopard even work right with this model?

follow mald0n's guide in the Lion installation section for installing from USB. for me, Lion has greater compatibility, even voodooHDA actually works with sound.

but best I can get is blank screen. and hdmi and vga out with qe ci still.

 

but for the chameleon bootloader, i used the latest chimera release from tonymacx86

boot with kernel flag cpus=1

no fix for that yet, however, with the sources for lion out, i expect an updated kernel to be made soon enough.

 

for post installation,

use [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] method to retain boot and install mald0n's kexts at the end of the guide to extra before restarting

 

you have to swap your wifi card, I recommend ar9280 (believed to be an airport card in some macs) check if your bios allows that card. or if you can mod the whitelist to allow use of that card
