Searay_X
After hours of research and years of MAC experience I decided to give it a whirl. Install was flawless on my IC7-G motherboard and the OS runs fast but one minor problem; the Ethernet interface would allow me to change settings but not allow traffic. I looked in the back as the built-in card has two led lights, green for OK and orange for, well, I am not sure but I would imagine orange indicates a problem perhaps – I have never seen orange only so I never inquired but my PC MAC shows an orange light (yes, it’s a good cable) I was curious so I used ifconfig in terminal to insure the card was present and the settings were there. Sure enough, all was well. I then used the route command to inspect the route. All ok there too. When I ping the MAC responds initially with “no route to host” and follows with “host down” response. I then edited the configuration files so it would report e1 instead of e0 as mentioned somewhere in this thread but to no avail. Also, off topic, my CPU shows that its in Intel 4.0 GHZ processor when in actuality it is a 3.0HT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
