mohdumar
I had installed 10.6 retail + myHack on a USB drive, and then saved a dmg image of it. I had also used Disk Utility to restore the USB image to my hd partition and it booted fine. Then i formatted the USB. Recently my hd OSX corrupted so I tried to restore the dmg to partition using this tool. When i tried to boot from it it gave error "Cannot mount root" in verbose mode. I tried the rd=disk#s# flag but didnt work. How do I get past it ?? (I cant use Disk Util because I dont have access to a Mac system) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/261935-cannot-mount-root/ Share on other sites
ifrit05
Can you get into single user mode? From there try to run fsck on the root device. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/261935-cannot-mount-root/#findComment-1711859 Share on other sites
