I have enabled windows file sharing in the sharing section in system preferences. In the sharing preference pane, my public folder is listed. "Everybody" has read-only access. In the users preference pane I have "Sharing Only" enabled for the guest user. I want to be able to access my public folder read-only via my Windows 7 PC without having to use a username/password. When I connect to my mac from the windows pc, it asks me for a user name and password. Windows should not be asking for a username/password because I have enabled the guest account for that. The username on the windows pc is different than the only username on my mac.

Does SMB guest access actually work for any of you? I'm wondering if this is a bug.
