VJCabral
Hi guys! I'm searching about this, but for the new Mac Pro. I already has a Super Radeon 5770 from Hell. But, damn...i want CUDA acceleration for Premiere Pro without buying a Quadro. So, we can do it on Hackintoshes. But on real Macs? I know about mods for 8800GT, GTX285 etc...But I would like something cheaper like GT 240 (1GB DDR5 Version), proved to be very efficient in this scenery. But I want it only to CUDA processing, the primary card still can be the Radeon. Is this possible today? Thanks in advance EDIT: I GUESS that in this case, i have to get the kext/inject/whatever to make the card operational inside OS X, once we don't need to boot with it. 3.14r2
Either use injector (ATY_Init), or buy a PC version of a Mac card, then flash it with BIOS used in Mac version. However BIOS flashing is more complicated matter and may not work in all cases. VJCabral
Indeed...flashing is risky, but injecting may work, i guess...anyone here have tried this? rominator
Indeed...flashing is risky, but injecting may work, i guess...anyone here have tried this? 10.6.8 with the Quadro drivers and ATY_Init gets about ANY Nvidia card working. This is ones with Device ids in the kexts. Any other version of drivers requires a 2nd Nvidia card in a Mac Pro. newnekton1
rominator, In your opinion, would an unflashed PC GTX480 work in a MacPro 2,1 running 10.6.8 with the ATY_Init.kext? Do you know what brands have the right Device ID for the kexts. If yes, what is the trick to getting the nVidia drivers installed in an unsupported Mac (a link to instructions would be fine). 10.6.8 with the Quadro drivers and ATY_Init gets about ANY Nvidia card working.
