my hackintosh has been updated to 10.6.8 yesterday and i guess it was a big mistake.

my setup:

GA P35-DS3P mobo

Q6600 2,4 GHz core 2 quad

8 GB GSKILL RAM

3 SATA Drives

1 SATA DVD

i used to have 10.6.3 and it worked more or less fine ... sound wasn't perfectly clear but i didn't really mind.

But after the 10.6.8 update, i had initial boot problems, now it seems to work ok except for a few things:

- Sound is completely gone: i've tried with the 889a drivers / appleHDA, i've tried VoodooHDA ... none have worked ...

- When my hackintosh is booting, the screen turns black after the initial apple startup pic. i have to unplug the monitor and plug it back in. then it's fine ...

- worst of all, not any .pkg file works anymore. i get an error message: "you can't open the application installer.app because it is not supported on this type of computer."

anyone with a similar setup experienced such problems? please help!

ok, i replaced installer.app with one from a previous 10.6 installation/backup

fixed the sound issue with tonymac's downgrade (##### 3.7.3)

but the sound is really bad. sounds like a surround sound with distorted bass. did anyone have similar problems? is there a fix?
