I have two patched DVD's, one is patched with test 3 and the other with release one by Bender12. When i try to install OSX on my laptop with on of those two DVD's i get the spinning bal of death screen (I see only the screen with the spinning ball and after a while a stop sign appears) . I know that the DVDs are fine because i installed OSX with them on another machines.

Here are the specs of my laptop.

AMD Turion ML34 1800 MHz processor

512 MB DDR RAM

ATI Radeon RS480 chipset

ATI x700 128 MBmobility Radeon GFX card

80 GB HDD

i have an AcerTM4650, i end up with the same problem, but i know the cause =) (of mine atleast) mac doesnt seem to support SATA dvd drives in the setup, but once loaded into mac it detects fine and works nicely ::wonders:: could it be possible to pass any commands of specific kexts to load for SATA dvd drives???

The Sata controllers is ok, i didnt read about the DVD drives..

"This one is in some respects related to the section above so instead of rehashing all of that I'll simply list what we know works for now.

- Intel chipset based ATA controllers (pretty much all of them are covered by the AppleIntelPIIXATA driver that comes with Darwin 8.0.1 so there really should not be any issues at all)

- Intel chipset based SATA controllers (again if your board has an Intel chipset you're practically guaranteed of support here, especially with the aforementioned 915 chipset)

- VIA chipset based ATA controllers (should be ok)

- VIA chipset based SATA controllers (pretty iffy if any support works at all)

- Nvidia Nforce chipset based ATA controllers (conditions apply, see notes above about Nforce chipsets)

- SiS chipset based ATA controllers (a few noted successes, your mileage may vary)

- ATI chipset based ATA controllers (a few noted successes, your mileage may vary)"

I was able to boot of a USB HDD which has the deadmoo's VMware image DD. When i boot without any parameters it tells me that i have to reboot my pc, with platform=x86pc and -x the same. When i use platform=x86pc - v it gives me the kdp_poll no debugger device error. Can someone tell me what the problem here is?

Thanks.
