Foxic
I've just updated an MSI Wind u100/Asus Eee PC clone to 10.6.8. It uses an IntelGMA950 Graphics card and to get full res and QE/CI working I had to edit the following kexts : AppleIntelGMA950.kext AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext I also had to rollback the following: AppleIntelPowerManagement AppleACPIPlatform IOPCIFamily When I boot the laptop normally it loads to desktop as it should, I can use if for about 5 or 6 seconds with full QE/CI, wireless, sound, USB, Bluetooth, but then the screen just goes black. The fans stay spinning, the power button led stays a constant blue, but if I plug in a usb stick, the led on the stick doesn't light up so I'm not sure if it's off, asleep or what. Pressing the power button to resume does nothing, the screen stays black. If I boot in safe mode I get full res but no QE/CI, then it all goes black. As soon as I use different kexts which give me full resolution but no QE/CI the system works fine. What could be causing this issue? In E/E I have FakeSMC VoodooPS2Controller VoodooPS2Trackpad AtherosL1cEthernet In S/L/E I have AppleIntelGMA950.kext (edited for 27AE) AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext (edited for 27AE) VoodooHDA AppleACPIBatteryManager (patched) IO80211Family (patched) Thanks in advance James Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/261366-qeci-causes-screen-to-go-black-system-to-hang/ Share on other sites
Foxic
After Adding SleepEnabler to S/L/E the PC now sleeps where it used to hang. It wakes without a problem, it then sleeps again after a few seconds, I wake it, it sleeps, I wake it, it sleeps, refuses to connect to network, it sleeps, I wake it, it connects to network, it sleeps, I wake it, refuses to connect to network, turn airport off, kernel panic.
