Another question. Blue screen after successfull OSX session, boot from DVD not possible

Dear everyone,

As you've noticed I might be bombing with questions at the moment.. forgive me, total newbie :)

Next problem: I managed to install and login to a session succesfully. I changed the following in

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist:

<key>Timeout</key>

<string>10</string>

<key>Quiet Boot</key>

<string>No</string>

To create a dualboot option. But when I boot into OS X now, after the grey Apple logo / verbose mode it goes to a blue screen and then does nothing. Any tip to solve this, or do I need to reïnstall again :P

Perhaps is there a possibilty to remove those keys+strings using the install DVD?

EDIT:

I can't boot from the DVD anymore. It just gives me the blue screen again.

EDIT2: even when i destroy Mac's partitions and try to install - blue screen pops up. Perhaps its no Mac for me at this point :(

Other thing is are you selecting all of the extra mods/patches when you do the install? I had a similar problem when I Played with some things on mine - I then reinstalled, and selected ALL the patches available - even the amd ones and it worked - dont ask me why. you will have to manually copy the mach_kernel file from the dvd if you do it that way though. BTW it would be helpful if you listed your machines specs...

Thats right. I installed with the correct patches for my system.

System specs:

HP NC6120 laptop

Intel Pentium M 1.73 SSE2

512MB DDR

Using install disk based on JaS 10.4.7 on a DVD+R

Intel GMA900 in 915 southbridge

60GB HDD

Thats about it

Now even though this may seem strange, odd, and a little premitive, try using the paperclip/2 wire trick. Normally the external monitor would work however, its worth a try. Basicly you have to take a small, metallic paperclip and stick into holes 2 and 12. (I can't find the pic)

Hole 2 is the second hole from the right, top row.

Hole 12 is the second hole from the right, bottom row.

Or you can check this nice picture with the holes pre marked http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=54242

(While the picture also marked connecting holes 1 and 6, users have soon found out that only holes 2 and 12 are necessary to boot Mac OSX)

I hope this helps, Good Luck!
