Rippance
Dear everyone, I just succesfully installed OS X (I guess .. ). But whenever I start up, I get some sort of stop or no-go sign at the grey apple screen. Anybody got a clue what this means? config: HP NC 6120 Pentium M 1.73, SSE2 512MB DDR Intel GMA900 on 915 express. Thanks for any help! XQYZ
Use the "-v" Option at the BootUp-Prompt to see (and post of cource) debug-errors. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26043-stop-sign-thru-apple-logo/#findComment-176268 Share on other sites
Rippance
"Use the "-v" Option at the BootUp-Prompt to see (and post of cource) debug-errors." Thats actually not possible. It just boots without asking for F8 or anything. I can only boot in verbose mode from CD, and when I do that I keep getting an additional software installer. XQYZ
Try to hit F8 even when it doesn't ask for it. If you are really quick it should work. And if this doesn't work edit com.apple.Boot.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ and edit the Wait-For-F8-Option or sth. like that using the InstallDVD. Rammjet
It just boots without asking for F8 or anything. I can only boot in verbose mode from CD When you boot the computer, the screen turns black and then turns grey with a spinning icon. As soon as the screen turns black, start tapping the F8 key quickly and repeatedly until you get a command prompt. You enter the -v there. whenever I start up, I get some sort of stop or no-go sign at the grey apple screen When you did the install, did you click the Customize button and select packages for your computer? You must select only Intel packages, not AMD and only SSE2 and not SSE3. There is a little arrow beside the patches category that must be clicked to reveal the individual packages. It looks something like this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=4249 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26043-stop-sign-thru-apple-logo/#findComment-176279 Share on other sites
Rippance
Yikes, I did not do that :-(. I'll try to solve this, reïnstalling or something like that. Thanks for the tip!
