homers
Hi I am running Windows 7 64bit with mac os 10.6.6 installed in VMWare. I am trying to connect my iPhone to the virtual machine but every time I click connect nothing happens until a few minutes later when I get the error from VMWare saying: "The connection for the USB device Apple USB Device was unsuccesful. Drive error" Does anyone know how I can resolve this? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/259669-connect-iphone-to-osx-in-vmware/ Share on other sites
beecher
Do you have any usb filter drivers installed? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/259669-connect-iphone-to-osx-in-vmware/#findComment-1699978 Share on other sites
Zenith432
I've been doing this for a some time now, and it works. Try searching %SystemRoot%\inf\setupapi.dev.log for more details about the error it's getting. VMware's USB driver on Windows should be enough - you don't need the iTunes drivers. The only thing I couldn't do from inside the virtual machine is upgrade iOS versions. That I had to do from a host OS X. homers
Hi It turned out the VMWare USB Driver failed to install. It installed fine after a restart so it works now.
