zalev
Hi, Just updated the Chameleon using the ##### 3.7 and SL 10.6.7 won't boot It probably has something to do with the SMC. What steps should I take? Thanks in advance! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/259574-kernel-panic-after-chameleon-update/ Share on other sites
ifrit05
I think you have to delete the AppleTyMCEDriver.kext from your /System/Library/Extensions/ folder. zalev
I think you have to delete the AppleTyMCEDriver.kext from your /System/Library/Extensions/ folder. that solved the problem! booted successfully what is this kext responsible for? are there any negative aspects of having this removed from the system? ifrit05
...what is this kext responsible for? are there any negative aspects of having this removed from the system? "Nehalem [Core i] ECC RAM support, could be used for more, will have to explore more. Problem with SMBIOS's identifying model as MacPro4,1, if so then make sure to delete AppleTyMCEDriver.kext, not needed for 90% of systems anyway." Here is a list of some kexts on Apple systems and what they are for: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/259574-kernel-panic-after-chameleon-update/#findComment-1699558 Share on other sites
