TimmyK.
Hey guys. When I run my hackintosh HDD as a device connected with my Ubuntu laptop, all my pictures, documents, music and videos on hackintosh are both read and write protected. When I run as administrator on Ubuntu, I can look at files, but I cannot delete, cut, or rename anything. How do I do this? As this place is hacker heaven I'm sure someone must know. Thank you for any help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/259534-how-to-get-into-hackintosh-hard-drive-as-device/ Share on other sites
ifrit05
By default Linux cannot write to a HFS+ (Journaled) volume. You have two options: 1. Disable Journaling on the volume in OS X (Should be Disk Utility) 2. Follow this guide to access volumes formated with Journaling enabled under Debian (Ubuntu it based on Debian): http://raamdev.com/mounting-hfs-with-write-access-in-debian Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/259534-how-to-get-into-hackintosh-hard-drive-as-device/#findComment-1699108 Share on other sites
TimmyK.
OK, I tried the command hfsprogs - mkfs and fsck for HFS and HFS+ file systems and got: hfsprogs: command not found Did they mean: sudo apt-get install hfsprogs - mkfs and fsck for HFS and HFS+ file systems ? TimmyK.
OK, I downloaded and installed hfsprogs, but still, when I copy anything from the Hackintosh disk to my computer, it says, "Permission denied". Is this because journaling has not been disabled on Hackintosh?
