Many things in Leopard, even Safari, are compiled with AltiVec instructions, which will work even on the slowest G4 Mac, but will crash immediately on even the fastest G3 Mac. Simply forget running Leopard on a G3. Even if you get it to run somehow, it will run unstable and slow and the G3 Mac won't be nearly as useful as it is now with Tiger.
