dummyboy Posted June 14, 2011 Share Posted June 14, 2011 For the installation, it returns the error during installation... ===Error Message === reading from /System/Installation/Packages/10.6.3.intel.pkg: Input/Output error error processing data: input/out error retrying file://localhost/System/Installation/Packages/10.6.3.pkg after 1 failure(s) The installer repeats this 3 times and then it gives an error that OS X cannot be installed. ======================================================================== I have used the options as -v -cpus=2 -maxmem=2048 For the installation media, I have checked with the MD5 checksum which is matched and it was burnt at 4x speed. My hardware is as follows: CPU: intel E5300 motherboard: Asus p5kpl-am Graphic Card: Nvidia Geforce 9600 512mb LAN: On Board (Realtek) Lan Audio: On Board Audio Installation Media: iAtkos S3 v2 Installation customize option (as trying to following the instructions from some posts in the Internet): Bootloader: Chameleon v2 rc4 Bootloader options: Graphics enabler USB(check the whole box) UUID Modified Kernels - PCJ kernel Patches SleepEnabler Drivers SATA/IDE Intel SATA/IDE Sound VoodooHDA uncheck AppleHDA VGA -nVidia-EFI string DVI/DVI (2 DVI card) Enablers NVEnabler Network Tried choose nothing and Realtek; both are failed. Foxic Posted May 22, 2012 Share Posted May 22, 2012 Create a USB installer and install the latest build of Chameleon to it. Create the /Extra/ directory and place org.chameleon.Boot.plist and smbios.plist here. Create the directory /Extra/Extensions/ and place any needed kexts here. The only kext you will definitely need is FakeSMC.kext, v2.5 works well in Snow Leopard. Try installing from the USB install media. Always boot with -v and if you run into a kernel panic post the output (the easiest way is to take a photo of the panic).
