Hi guys. I'm kinda new in Hackintosh world. So I successfully done formatting (I used EMpire Efi for boot cd) but I stuck on kexts, how should I continue from there? Where are the reliable sources for kexts? And is there any tutorials for that?

Specs:

Gigabyte x58 USB3 Board

i7 Core 950

8GB 1333 MHZ Kingston DDR3 Ram

HIS Radeon HD 5670 1gb Graphic Card

2TB HDD

Thanks.

Most kernel extensions you need you can find attached to posts right here on InsanelyMac. A good deal of useful stuff is available over at the ProjectOSX forums as well. It's been a while since I visited there but I believe kexts.com is a collection of kernel extensions that come mainly from here and ProjectOSX, and that there's no actual development going on over there.

Personally I try to avoid using that type of site and always try to find out where the files come from and then download them from there. If you download a package of files from some random hosting service you might miss some important information.

What the hell is "Snow Leopard 1.3"?

Be more specific when asking for help, describe the problem you're having.

Are you looking for a specific Kernel Extension? For what? Do you know for sure that you need it?

Ugh. That was totally misspelled.

I'm actually looking for the general kexts. I mean which kexts I should install in the beginning. For example I know sleepenabler is for sleep mode to work. I'm sure you understand what I meant.

Like so, I've been searching in the forums but I couldn't find any kind of list etc. for general kexts in one single page.

Thanks for yoru help.

That's because it doesn't exist.

The only kernel extension that everybody needs is fakesmc.kext, the rest depends on your hardware.

Sleep and hibernation can work fine (no crutches) if your hardware is compatible and AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext is loaded. Sometimes a little DSDT tickling is needed.
