Daichikokujo
I tried VoodooHDA, because I have an Intel i5 processor, but it doesn't work. It seems like that's the only option I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.6 by the way. I used the installer that voodoohda has name of the file is voodoohda-2.7.2.pkg and I added the .kext file into /Extra/extensions/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258654-no-sound/ Share on other sites
ifrit05
I tried VoodooHDA, because I have an Intel i5 processor What does that have to do with your sound card? lol I used the installer that voodoohda has name of the file is voodoohda-2.7.2.pkg and I added the .kext file into /Extra/extensions/ The VoodooHDA package installs the Kext to your System/Library/Extensions, thats where it needs to be. What sound card do you have in your machine? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258654-no-sound/#findComment-1693923 Share on other sites

But yea, there's all the information I could find about my sound card in DXDIAG, is there more I should have? ifrit05
Ok, VoodooHDA should work. Make sure it's installed in your System/Library/Extensions folder. On boot (every boot) go into the VoodooHDA preference panel and make sure all the available bars are turned up. By the way, I'm booting with "-v -f -x" if that makes any difference. Edit: Nevermind, I found the panel, and I get Error: Can't get registry-entry path and iOServiceClose failed Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258654-no-sound/#findComment-1694109 Share on other sites
ifrit05
It wont load if you boot in safe mode (-x), OS X only loads kexts that are ABSOLUTELY needed to run the system, nothing more. (no sound, video, network, etc.) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258654-no-sound/#findComment-1694162 Share on other sites
logibear
What seemed to work for me was installing the kext via osx86tools if you have it, if not try another kext installer like kext helper or utility Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258654-no-sound/#findComment-1694307 Share on other sites

(no sound, video, network, etc.) Well I kind of have to since I always get stuck on DSMOS has arrived. Do you know the solution to the? I'll try booting in only "-v -f" Edit: Nevermind. I was able to boot without any flags and everything is fine now Thanks.
