davidb8
please someone with someknowledge help me out. i installed iatkos and it took me a few attempts to dual boot etc but in the end i nailed it. had snow leopard running. even got on the internet using my phone as a usb modem! downloaded what i thought would fix the stretched resolution and installed. also installed what i thought would get the mousepad + keyboard working. after it told me to restart it wont boot. it just comes up a black box saying "you need to restart your computer" it booted with -x but i couldnt get on the internet with my modem method, also i said no airport card even though my wireless card was working(just couldnt access internet but cold connect to network) and it looks like i still cant use mousepad+keyboard. i need to be able to dual boot win7 and osx. should i try a different version? like iatkos v7, i think i had that running sometime last year. my laptop is acer aspire 5738z - i have had iatkos v7 running on it before so i know it can work, just need a little help from the pros thanks db Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258545-installed-and-was-working-fine-now-it-wont-boot-need-to-restart/ Share on other sites
ifrit05
That really doesn't tell you whats wrong. Try booting with -v (verbose mode) and see what the issue is. If it's something about one of the drivers you installed, go into single user mode (-s) and remove it using some terminal commands. davidb8
ran it with -v here is a picture, im new to mac so i cant make sense of it. also how would i remove the things i installed earlier?? would i be better installing hazard release instead of iatkos? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/23/05062011395.jpg/ When i try loading it in single user mode it gets as far as saying "system uptime in nanoseconds" and then a long number. will get a picture ok, so now iv got an install of iatkos s3 snow leopard, working. but im afraid to install anything incase it decides not to boot again. how can i make a backup image that i can restore incase something goes wrong. i tried making one last time through disc utility but it wouldnt let me restore it!!! so i had to do a clean install the only thing i want now is a fix so i can use 1377x768 resolution. my gfx card is intel gma4500m - yes i know theres no kext/drivers for my card but iv had it fixed before i just dont know were i got the fix from. so if anyone can help me make a working backup image of my new install. and a working fix for full resolution i would be very happy. thanks db Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258545-installed-and-was-working-fine-now-it-wont-boot-need-to-restart/#findComment-1693170 Share on other sites
