Sorry for being vague, I'm posting from my phone.

I have a HD5970 and have installed snow leopard with the retail disk. I can boot into safe mode and the OS workes perfectly. As soon as I try to boot with just -v the screen loads, the desktop appears and I can move the mouse. The only problem is that I can't click anything. The same situation happens if I install my graphics card drivers.

Does anyone have any idea?

When you get a chance, we'll probably need just a bit more:

MOBO (I assume this is a desktop)

CPU

installer method and drivers (kexts) used (VoodooPS2 or Apple or ...)

memory

Personally, I'm laptop guy so I probably won't be a lot of help but it is a process; seldom does it just run right out of the box.

Did you modify your DSDT? Is this the first install or did you just do a Video card replacement? And anything else you can think of that might have changed ...

Personally, I have three real Macs and I have three hackintosh laptops (Dells; E1705, 1525 and a L702x w/everything working except qe/cl on my video, still looking for that) so I'm fairly familiar with the process.

Good luck!

These are my specs:

K9A2 Platinum Motherboard

4Gb Corsair Dominator

HD5970 (HIS)

Phenom II 940 @ 3.4Ghz

I managed to get the computer (with the same specs) working about 4-5 months ago, but I never wrote down what I did. I am using a bootCD, then swapping out the bootCD for the retail disc. I used I have 10.6.3(?), then upgraded to 10.6.4 as applied the snow leopard graphics update. The only difference this time is that I'm using 10.6.5, which already has the required ATI kexts on it.

Again, sorry for any mistakes or typos, still on my phone.
