Firstly I have a D945GTP and OSX installs onto SATA perfectly fine. Just set it to IDE mode in bios.

Secondly and not wishing to hi-jack but Denisvj, are you using a P4 or a Celeron on that D945GTP as with a celeron mine suffers eternal rebooting on boot and I can't figure out how to fix it aside from buying a full P4 like a 805.

I have a P4 and didn´t have any problem with the install or need a Pata disk, no an expert so i put the disk and begin to install , now a remeber i used the myzar 10.4.5 then updated to 10.4.7 with the JaS Update.

Now working fine with only 2 problems : sound coming from the output line and no sleep but i don´t care .

ventress, i'm a n00bie but i think your celeron don't have the sse3 extensions.

You should try to reinstall everything but this time choose a custom installation and then in the list a package named "sse3 to sse2 converter..." or something like this, it's a decrypted kernel specially optimized for sse2 procs.

Don't choose the other package named "sse3..." it simply can't work with a celeron. I don't know how to uninstall this package once installed, it's why i suggest a vanilla install instead.

Well, speaking about SATA, i have Asus P5P800 with Intel chipset and my 200g Maxtor SATA drive works very well with OSX.
