Hello hackintoshers

I'm trying to build a Hackintosh for a friend of mine in the video edition business.

I saw a video on LifeHacker with a similar board to my config wich is the followimg:

1 x MB ASUS Chipset Intel P55 SK1156 DDR3/eSATA - P7P55D

1 x CPU INTEL Core i7 2600 - 3.40GHz 8MB LGA 1155

4 x DIMM KINGSTON 4GB DDR3 1333 ECC (16GB total)

1 x VGA ASUS RADEON HD6970 DCII 2GbDDR5 HDMI DisplayPort EAH6970

The original iMac config is below. I tryed to stay as close as possible to the original config, namely the graphics board.

Can anyone tell me if this config will work?

Is so, I've read that there are problems with RADEON... people prefere NVIDA? Should I go for a NVIDIA instead?

Below I've included screenshots of the specs of the MB and Graphics Card.

Many thanks in advance for your insights

Thanks for such a quick response!

I presume no problem with MB and CPU, but the 3 question marks are for the graphics card RADEON HD6970 right?

This particular model is untested right?

I thought by choosing the same Graphics Card as the original iMac the support would be instantaneous... right? wrong?

P.S: Sorry for being such a noob

MObo and CPU

Use P67 mobos for sandy bridge(socket 1155)

P55 for Nehalem(socket 1156) :(

The motherboard you've selected is a P55 Chipset/Socket 1156 board.

The CPU you have chosen is for a P67/H67/Z68 Chipset/Socket 1155 board.

You need to either pick a new P67 Mobo or an older i7 870 CPU. I recommend scrapping the motherboard you've chosen and instead get a P67/Socket 1155 motherboard.
