Ok so I have OSX Installed using Hazard's distro. Everything seems to work fine after the install. It even boots up pretty fast. However, its showing considerable lag for whatever reason. Sometimes it even freezes up. I'm pretty sure I picked the wrong kext or something.

Here's my setup

CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9350e

Mobo: Biostar A780L

Chipset 780G

Southbridge SB700

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT 240 1GB

1 Kingston 30GB SSD

2 Seagate Barracuda 1TB Sata Hard Drives

4GB RAM

I have a similar problem like this before on older computer set up and the problem was resovled. But this time around with this different setup it seems a little more difficult.

Hopefully one of you can help me out with this vexing situation. It will be greatly appreciated!

Well what was the problem? (For people that have the same issue).

I hate when that happens:

- Spend hours doing Google searches regarding a problem you're having, hoping someone else might have a solution

- Find a forum post with a topic that exactly describes your problem (sometimes has a SOLVED tag)

- Become very VERY hopeful.

- Read "solution" given in said post, turns out to be something like: "Nevermind I fixed it"

- Never hear from the original poster again. Ever.

- Cite internet meme appropriate for your level of disappointment and/or anger.

- Repeat.

I sincerely hope the original poster will come back and give an answer.

Sorry guys...I figured that since no one gave me an answer to my problem, that no one would bother to even reply to whatever I had to say.

Anyway I'll try to remember what I did.

I THINK my issue was the chipset/sata setup.

So this is what I did and the the kexts I used.

During installation I used a legacy sata kext.

I chose the chocolate kernel

I rebooted with -v -x and went into safemode.

I installed the 10.6.7 update

After it was installed ( no reboot ) I installed AppleATIATA.kext and the Legacy kernel 10.6.0

I found a kext for my chipset SB700 and installed that as well.

Installed the Chameleon 2.0 RC5 Installer

Rebooted..Loaded OS X...working perfectly now.

so far theres been NO problems what so ever..I'm even running PS CS5 and Lightroom 3. Took a chance with Aperture 3 and that works too.

I hope I was thorough with what I did. Like I said..I was only going off of a hunch that I had..sorry I didn't mention what I did before. As I mentioned earlier I didn't think that anyone would actually reply back to me either way....

Hope this helps anyone that were having the same problem I was having.

There was no need to reinstall the Legacy Kernel, iATKOS S3 prevents System Update's from overwriting it. :thumbsup_anim:

Now I would suggest getting nawcom's Legacy Kernel 10.7.0 (for 10.6.7).

Glad to hear you sorted your problems out and thanks for posting what you did to fix it.

I'll give that a go. Thanks!

I guess my determination allowed me to figure out a solution to the problem I had.
