I have a DMG image file.

I can easily mount it by double clicking on it.

Here's the deal.

I own UT2004 for PC, but not for MAC, so I downloaded the retail image.

In order to install it, I needed to download and use a updated universal binary installer.

Wrote down license key, it worked... install english language? fine, sure.

Please insert CD... wait, what?

Mounting DMG file obviously didn't work because it only reads from physical CD drive.

I don't have a empty DVD lying around to just burn it to, not exactly want to buy it for a game that I'm not even sure if it still works on my machine.

I need a virtual CD drive. ( not just mounting DMG file )

I want OSX to think I have a physical CD drive that I can mount that DMG file to.

In Windows it's called Daemon tools.

Tried Virtual CD RW for mac... nice Icon.

I even correctly converted DMG file to CDR through disk-utility on order to mount it to the virual CD drive.

But it says that it cannot read the file... bummer. ( yes OSX does mount it correctly and it appears to be fine )

I searched google for it.

A lot of people asked the same question and get replies like... what do you need that for, OSX can mount it...

True, ture... but the installer only reads from a physical CD drive, remember?

Then those people are having a kernel panic or something, they just don't seem to get it.

There is a difference in just mounting a CD image and a Virtual CD drive, so that OSX thinks I have another physical CD drive.

So, now that I've cleared that out, I will ask my question.

Besides the non working Virtual CD RW app...

Is there a app for OSX that allows OSX to think that I have another physical CD drive installed that I can mount that image file to?

Thank you. ( Please don't go kernel panic on my question, too ) :)
