Okay, so now with any kind of driver/kernel mixture i try with the new 10.6.6i hazard image, it just stays on the blue barber shop loading bar when installing and wont change, i cant even erase the partitioned space on my hard drive... why is it doing this?

I don't know. Lot's of people have had success with Hazard 10.6.6i. Maybe the iso is corrupt. The one you downloaded, did it come with an MD5 file so you can check the integrity of the iso you have? If it did, you can verify MD5 as follows:

• Open Terminal
• Type: md5 (followed by a space)
• Drag and drop the iso file icon into the Terminal window to give it the correct path
• Press <enter>
• In a minute, the md5 number should appear.
• Open the MD5 file in TextEdit and compare the number there to the number in Terminal
• If they are different, your iso is corrupt.

I'm not home right now but ill check and see if its corrupt; the ISO did have a md5 sum number so ill check it out...

i cant seem to check the md5, but i went back to where i downloaded the iso image, and its type is under Applications > UNIX, instead of Mac, could that be the problem?

No, the person who posted it just put it into the wrong category. What is the problem with checking the MD5? I realize that I gave Mac instructions and if you aren't running OSX they don't apply. But I'm sure Windows or Linux has MD5 checking apps/routines.

Also, is the barber pole situation before or after applying the PPF? If after, maybe the patch got corrupted. Unfortunately, there is no MD5 for checking the patched iso.

I only have tried the iso after the ppf patch, so everything I have been having problems with are after the patch. I am running a dual boot windows 7 and ubuntu linux so I can check the md5 easier on my linux... and ill also burn the non patched iso and see if I get the same problems... thanks for reminding me about the clean iso, I totally forgot about it...

Just for reference, here is the MD5 for my patched version of Hazard 10.6.6i. I'm not saying this is good or bad, I don't know. But if yours is the same then at least we both got the same version after the patch:

MD5 (/Volumes/SL_10.6.6i_by_Hazard/SL_10.6.6i_by_Hazard [patched].iso) = ad3574d2eab867801b3e2baf5a533810

I just checked the iso and the MD5 does not match the original and patched image, so ill need to find a new download. ill try the link you PM'd me a while back, if you do have another link that isn't separated into sections, and is one full file, that would be preferred...

just re-downloaded the same iso image and it still gives me a panic error BEFORE i even get to the installation window... i need a new link

Does the newly downloaded iso match the MD5 this time?

If using verbose mode (-v), the panic says something about IOATAFamily, then the iso needs the PPF patch.

okay, i got passed the panic before install, but its doing the same thing again, it gives me the blue barber shop loading bar when installing again...

I don't know what to tell you. If it stays that way after 10 minutes or so and won't install, then I don't know a way to force it.

There are other distros. You can try installing 10.6.3 using "Mac Snow Leopard for PC's iATKOS_S3_v2.zip"

Edit: there is a way to inspect the install log during installation to see what might be happening. Check out the menu items around the Help Window menu or whatever...Install log is in there somewhere.
