Rufus Sweetwater
I installed 10.6.0 using Hazards install disc onto a Compaq Presario V2000 Laptop, and this is the closest chance i have gotten to actually have a hackintosh. I was an idiot cause i didnt write down the drivers that i used when i got this kernel panic below, but heres a pic of the kernel panic i got when i first installed 10.6.0 using Hazards Disc Image, which also contain the update to 6.1 & 6.2. please post back with any information you have regarding a proper installation. if it helps, the panic said that my PC model was recognized as a MacPro4.1 im going to reinstall again and ill post again with what kernels and drivers i used... Install the IOPCI and IOATA fixes in the Hazard DVD. I do believe they are located in the "System" section of it. rlf
SATA/ATA Fix > AHCI SATA Fix + IOATAFamily Fix + IOATAFamily SATA Fix All 3 of these install slightly different versions of the same thing. That says 2 of them will be cancelled out by the 3rd. I have no idea which one will ultimately be accepted by the system. You have to try each one individually. For what it's worth, the "AHCI SATA Fix" seemed the best but obviously that didn't work. Rufus Sweetwater
okay i think this works a lot better Bootloader: Chameleon RC3 PCEFI 10.5 Kernels: None Graphic Drivers: None Audio Drivers:AppleAzaliaAudioADI1981 Network: BCM5755M_Ethernet Laptop Support: AppleACPIBatteryManager | FunctionFlip | VoodooBattery | VoodooMonitor | VoodooPower | VoodooPS2Trackpad System Support: IOATAFamily Fix Misc: Additional Fonts basically i got rid of the legacy kernel and only used the IOATAFamily Fix and that got rid of the kernel pacnics, now i am just stuck on the loading screen after the chameleon bootloader loads, its the silver apple screen with the blackish grey loading circle below it... it just loads and loads forever... so im gonna try the same trial, just switching the IOATAFamily SATA Fix... see if that does anything... While Chameleon is loading, press any key to stop it. Make sure it is set to select your installation to be booted and type: -v followed by <Enter> This will invoke a text verbose mode so you can see what it is hanging on when it is sitting there spinning. From what I can read, it is the AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext causing the panic. That kext is a part of the IOATAFamilyFix that you installed. Each of the 3 packages is installing an IOATAFamily.kext which contains the AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext as a plugin. The AHCISATAFix package actually installs 2 EXTRA AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext's which I'm not sure how that is supposed to work. So, it looks like the next test is with the IOATAFamilySATAFix. Another thing to check...does your BIOS allow you to set AHCI instead of IDE/Compatible for the SATA drives? If it does, try booting in each config. rlf
i have been searching for the Hazard 10.6.6i distro and i cant seem to find it, link please? Can't post those links in the forum. Search Google for "Hazard 10.6.6i". You will find torrent sites and download sites. There is a note that goes along with the DVD: In case that you have problem booting this DVD (IOATAFamily.kext kernel panic) please use SL_10.6.6i_IOATAFamily.ppf DVD patch which will fix that problem. In which case, you'll need to brush up on how to perform a ppf patch update to an iso. As always, Google is your friend. Search "ppf patching" and "ppf-o-matic". PPF is a patch file format created for the first Playstation. A PPF is a patch file that updates an ISO (disk image file). You use PPF-O-Matic to apply the PPF patch file to the ISO and then burn the ISO to a DVD. PPF-O-Matic comes in formats for various operating systems. I've had crashes using it in OSX so I often perform PPF patching in Windows.
