guit5412
Thank for your answer very fast ! But how could I boot Lion in verbose mode ?
cubez
press Apple+V after powering on your vm. I'm not sure which key gets recognized as the apple key, try ctrl, win-key or alt. It's the win-key for me. Â edit: googling stuff like this is greatly appreciated!

guit5412
It's kinda hard, because I'm French, but I've read the thread entirely... And I've got the same message as Kurt Hectic, the 64-bit thing... I'm really sorry for these questions, but I'd really love to have Lion on my PC... Thanks a lot ! cubez
sorry for being harsh, i'm kinda stressed out, exams and stuff. Â try this: Â Try changing the value of "guestOS" from "darwin64" to "darwin" or "darwin10-64" to "darwin10" Â edit: in your vm's .vmx file
guit5412
Ok, so I've tried this, and VMware with a grey background began to charge. Then, instead of the Apple logo, there is a crossed round : Â Â Â Hope you will have an answer... Good luck for your exams
cubez
Now boot in verbose mode to get error messages! Â You'll most likely be able to solve your problem by googling the error message. your problem is quite common and not that hard to solve afaik. I can't really help you from here as i'd need to google anything i tell you myself and I'm not having spare time for that right now, sorry! cubez
Never ran Lion in VMware as I managed to install it natively. Can't help you with that, sorry.
Will Caine
Hey CubeZ I really appreciate your work, and im sure you have lots on your mind but changing the value of guest OS from "darwin10-64" to "darwin10" etc... does mean that the patch will work, however it stops the os from installing. Please could you try fixing the problem on win 7 64-bits. Really would be greatful! Â EDIT: just thought i would mention I'm having the exact same problem as guit5412. Also, there is no error message in verboose mode.

cubez
Sorry guys, doesn't seem to be possible. Ignoring the absence of long mode is exactly what clicking the yes button does.
guit5412
Ok... So it's not possible at all ?
Will Caine
just a quick question... do you actually have any idea of what the problem is with win 7 64-bit or are you just looking for work arounds. dont mean to seem rude or anything just want to ask. If there is anything i can do to help, testing etc... please do ask.
cubez
i have no idea of virtualization itself, I just reenable what VMware disables for reasons we don't know! also the problem is not win7 but rather vmware itself, because i don't see why software virtualizing a 64bit guest on a 64bit host shouldnt be possible! Will Caine
if i sent you a copy of the unpatched exe on my pc could that help in figuring out what needs to be done?
cubez
Nope, i got them all i don't think i'm gonna make it work, vmware just doesn't support it imho.
Will Caine
what would you suggest someone on win7 64-bit does then, if they would like to have mac os x in vmware? can it be done at all? with a 32-bit version/older version??
cubez
running lion in 32bit mode is just a configuration thing. it works.
