C.D.C
I just picked up an HP Mini311 for next to nothing. I would love to turn this into a macbook air alternative. I have been skimming the other posts for this machine and it seems that the WiFi and sound are the biggest hang ups. I have a wifi card from a Dell Mini 9 that I will be installing prior to the install so I think that should take care of the Wifi issue. As for sound, its not all that important at this point. I just need some help choosing the best Snow Leopard release to use and with proper installation settings. I have tried getting this information from the other posts bit keep getting confused as they seem to go in circles. Sorry HORRIBLE ADHD. Any help will be appreciated! Rubituco
My advice is to install any 10.6.7 Snow Leopard, search on any torrent trackers. It have a lot of iso's. You can also try to install the Retail SL, if you need help ask on the forum, about kexts and patches. Try it Hazard 10.6.6! rlf
The best info that I find says to install 10.6 Retail and then update to 10.6.4. There may be ways to take that all the way to 10.6.7 but I don't have time to read the entire thread. Install 10.6/10.6.4: http://mymacbookmini.blogspot.com/2010/02/...-in-way-id.html Thread with discussion of this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=216449 - read first posting and as much of the rest as you can stand Possible audio fix: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?...amp;#entry11007 - note that it refers to previous postings for setup Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256717-hp-mini311/#findComment-1681474 Share on other sites

But the tutorial was written a year ago and F15 was probably the latest and greatest then, so I would give the F16 a try. C.D.C
Alright, I got SL installed with no issues. Everything works except wireless but, I knew that before I started. I ran the 10.6.4 update and now I want to update it further to the most recent update. Can anyone tell me the best way to do this? EDIT: Got the wireless working with a RALINK RT3070 USB WiFi adapter Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256717-hp-mini311/#findComment-1682200 Share on other sites
