So, I installed snow leopard with windows 7.

Now when I try to boot windows 7 I get a bsod, im guessing its from ahci switch.

Anyways, after I reinstall windows how would I renable chamelion?

I've read that there is a registry hack to change Windows from IDE to AHCI, but I

don't know that it works. The link below has pictures of changes made to the Bios.

"It's not difficult- the only thing I did on my Gigabyte board besides setting Boot

Priority to CD/DVD first was set Optimized Defaults, change SATA to AHCI

mode, and set HPET to 64-bit mode."

After installing Windows to the MBR, download free Easybcd bootloader and add

Mac OS X to the boot menu. Then you can boot and Windows will offer to boot

SL. If you want Chameleon in the MBR (boot0)) reinstall it. I think the optimum

way to is to download a newer Chameleon*.gz. In the i386 folder, you will find all the

Chameleon boot files and fdisk. Follow the commands carefully from inside the i386 folder.

Find a newer version of Chameleon than he used in his example. You can use free

Gparted to set SL to active if perchance that doesn't happen. Or you can use fdisk.

Chameleon can also be installed to the hidden EFI partition, Gringo has a howto.

at the bottom of his post.

EDIT: I just saw another way to do this which might appeal to you by Dr. Hurt,

Hello,

I used a guide located at tweaks.com > Windows 7 > Performance Tweaks > Improve SATA hard disk performance (Convert from IDE to AHCI)

to change from IDE to AHCI in Windows 7. I suppose you'd have to re-enable IDE in the BIOS before you could get into windows 7 to change it.

Also, sorry about the long-winded directions to the site, I thought I read somewhere that they don't like linking to outside sites. :/
