Gringo Vermelho
It may simply be a driver issue. Your install media does not have the right drivers for your hardware.Contrary to popular belief, setting your SATA controller to AHCI mode is not a requirement for installing OS X. At least not on all drive controllers. There are drivers for PATA mode as well, Intel ICHx controllers can work with AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext for example. I don't know what the situation is with nforce chipsets or other controllers. If your PC has nforce chipset, try to find Verdant's nforce guides, he might have the drivers you need. If they exist.Alternatively, you can try using external drives connected via USB. rlf
when the mac os x installer loads up instantly it comes up please restart computer using the power button You need to start in verbose mode. What kind of computer/mobo do you have? What are you trying to install from, a boot CD combined with a retail MacOSX DVD or from some distro like Hazard or iAtkos? Are you following some guide or just winging it? Gringo Vermelho
Your laptop has Intel chipset so you should be able to use AppleIntelPIIATA.kext. That is, if the problem is the drive controller. Boot with -v and post a photo of where it halts. and using this guide http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...ac-os-x-on.html Then you should ask on the Tonymacx86 forum, they will be able to help you better. Gringo Vermelho
Try a different boot CD. nawcom, meklort, empire EFI, hackboot, there are many more. Your issue has nothing to do with your SATA controller being in AHCI mode or not. Gringo Vermelho
i cant find any blank cd's or format this one for some reason You can't "format" a CD. CD-RWs can be erased, but that's not the same as formatting. Gringo Vermelho
I think this dude explains it better than I do: Or you could try spinning it at ~30.000 RPM, that will erase it for sure: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256235-1st-step-1st-problemthink-ive-found-the-problem/#findComment-1678514 Share on other sites

Gringo Vermelho
Google will not help you, and I'm not joking, as you can see, short of breaking it in two with your own hands, that's how to erase a CD. You cannot erase a CD-R and burn to it again. That's only possible with a CD-RW.
