lee majors
Hey, I just got my hackintosh install up and running using the AWESOME guide put together by dgobe and Fabio here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=208724 Everything is working brilliantly apart from a couple of issues, one of which I need help with. While running, every few minutes my optical drive scans and flashes like something is checking the disc for something. But, there's no disc in the drive and no software is running. Is there a known fix for this? I tried searching but I couldn't find the right keywoards to search for. Thanks Lee Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/255814-optical-drive-periodically-scanning/ Share on other sites

lee majors
Sadly, while unchecking the "put drive to sleep" box seems to reduce the number of times it happens, it's not solved the problem Putting a disc in the drive and keeping it there solves the problem, but that's not really a proper fix.
