Hi all.

First of all I must excuse me for my not so well spoken English :(

I`ve installed Hazard 10.6.6i in AMD Phenom x4 965 with the Flags: {-v busratio=20 fsb=20000000}

So far it runs very well. Only my Soundcard: RME hdsp 9632 wont sound normal..

Ive tried the original drivers from RME -Page (hdsp_173_x86.gz). Installation was without any problems. It reboots, the programs start automatically and all seems to be ok.

BootLog Says (-v): WARNING: com.RME.driver.HammerfallDSP declares no kernel dependencies

-> what does it mean?

Now, when I open iTunes it sounds ok two BUT all 3-5 Seconds it does crackling. Its like the CPU is too slow or the soundcards buffer is too small?!

Then I've read here in Forum that 0xdeadbeef has programmed a Patch to fix this Problem.

So Ive installed the older Driver (hdsp_16_x86) and patched him. The Distortion is gone but crackling is present..

Has anyone an Idea what to do ???

My System:

MB: ASUS M4A87TD evo

RAM: 4GB DDR3 -> "About this MAC" shows DDR2

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor -> kext utility recognizes the CPU. In "About This MAC" its unknown CPU

Thank you very much!

i've been experiencing this when i was new to osx, at first my "workaround" was to go to hammerfall setting, and set the dds to active, for 44,100 at x1. but it worked only for couple of days.

then i found the app which control all audio surface of your mac,

it's under utilities in application folder, called "Audio & Midi Setup", you have to be sure the setting for the rme are for 44,100Khz and config your speakers on the "config speakers" dialog for both stereo and multichannel, and you need to be good.

i am with osx something like 6 month now and never had any problem since then.

only thing is they don't have a 64bit driver for it since there are no pci in the current macs.

so be sure to load your pc at 32bit (arch=i386) else you won't be able to use the soundcard at all

Big Thanks for your Answer!

I also have made the experience with the "utilities/Audio, MIDI" - Setup in meantime.

But it doesnt work when I follow your instructions.. I can set all Channels (In and Out) but I only get a noise when I try to configure the Speakers?!?!!!

My semi-clue is to make my WebCam in "Settings/Sound/In" as Inputdevice active. Now I have undisturbed and clean Sound like in Windoze :)

I also have programmed a little Script that makes my WebCam-AudioIn active automatically.

Strange, inst it?!?

However.. Programs like Band-In-A-Box and Sibelius are running fine!

Now lets wait for the Lion :P

it's really strange, i have been working with leopard & snow with those driver with no noise problem(or any other).

meybe it's becuase it's amd.

yes. I've found out that the Problem might have to do with idle of HDD or CPU?!

without my "input-method" it crackles only when i stop moving my mouse around.

the input-thing works because the webcam's microphone is always in action.

Same for Youtube videos. Video+Sound are only smooth when I move mouse or when a program in background runs (e.g. Input-thing), which holds the PC in action.
