idreadful
Hello! I used iBench to benchmark CPU only, and while tests are running just only one core is active on 100% and others are almost idle. Is it ok? I tried different settings in bios (EIST, Turbo disable/enable). Tried with 10.6 with 10.7.3 kernel in 32/64 bit, 10.6.7 with 10.7.3 kernel in 64/32 bit. Just to be sure made the same test on iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo So both cores are loaded. Issue or normal? And About This Mac says it's unknown CPU. My build: Asus P8P67, i5 2300, 8Gb RAM, GF 7600GT Mac OS X 10.6.0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/254145-intel-i5-strange-cores-usage/ Share on other sites
neil43
Yes it is okay. I ran this bench mark on my i7-875 hack and saw that many of the sub-tests use only one thread leaving the remaining CPU resources idle. Not very interesting (in my opinion). I would rather use GeekBench and compare performance with the online results library (for CPU). For a GPU bench mark I mainly use Cinebench 11.5. neil Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/254145-intel-i5-strange-cores-usage/#findComment-1668285 Share on other sites
