kevingpo
I followed that guide of patching DVD and installing it. However I simply forgot or missed out the SSE2 hack/patch. I installed on my laptop Centrino. I don't think it's Pentium M. The OS X booted fine into Desktop. Just wondering whether Centrino is SSE2 or SSE3. If it's SSE2, then will my OSX crash? PS: is it possible to apply the SSE2 patch.. even though my MAC OS X is fully installe now? And how? Proteo
If it's SSE2, then will my OSX crash? No, but you won't be able to run PPC apps. kevingpo
No, but you won't be able to run PPC apps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What PPC apps do I need? I got Safari, iTunes, QuickTime, and everything else that is installed seems to work. I will download and install Adium so I can talk to my friends, etc. Seems to work, even though I haven't applied the SSE2 patch. If later I do need the SSE2, is it possible to apply it during a post-install? cyrana
Just a nitpick. Centrino is the 'platform', and the new one is Sonoma. The CPU is a Pentium-M (dothan for current models), and currently they only have SSE2.
