rb2k
Hi, I am trying to install MacOSX using the 10.4.7 internal Jas DVD. my specs: Laptop: Samsung x20 1730V (Bios 12z) CPU Intel® Pentium® M processor 1.73GHz RAM 1024MB GFX: Intel Corp. Mobile Graphics Controller (i915) Sound Intel Corp. 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller USB 1 Intel Corp. 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) USB UHCI USB 2 Intel Corp. 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller Firewire Ricoh Co Ltd R5C552 IEEE 1394 Controller LAN Broadcom Corporation BCM4401-B0 100Base-TX WLAN Intel Corp. PRO/Wireless 2200BG Modem Intel Corp. 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Modem Controller TouchPad Synaptics PCMCIA Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II MD/SD-Slot Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 17) + Ricoh Co Ltd R5C592 Memory Stick Bus Host Adapter (rev 08) I could install one of the first OSX releases without a problem (pop in the DVD, install, be happy...) and everything worked pretty fine (besides wlan obviously) The only things I've done is upgrading my HDD (80 > 100 GB) and updating my BIOS Now the 10.4.7 Jas DVD doesn't boot without an external monitor (results in bluescreen... known problem as far as i read) and even WITH an external monitor it seems to freeze at the "white backgroud, apple, spining circle thingy" stage. the strange thing is, that upon pressing any key, the DVD Drive spins up and does seem to do something... so maybe it's only a problem with graphics? Afair, VESA sucks using Linux too on the GMA900 Any ideas what the problem could be?
