I've been using a chameleon OSX boot for about a year (ever since I ditched an Efi-X dongle). I boot the efi bios off of a USB stick that has chameleon on it, then boot from a sata drive.

It's been working great...except I had intermittent pauses (which I think was due to a HD). I noticed that one of my drives had a bios update from Seagate, so I booted from a seagate update iso and patched the bios on the drive (which also happened to be my main boot drive).

When I tried to boot again I just got the white mac screen with the spinning dial. I thought that maybe the data on the drive had a problem so I booted into the 'install' portion of the USB stick, formatted the drive, and then used TimeMachine to restore the data. Still have the same problem.

I thought I'd update my memory stick (using the RC5 install from tonymacx86.blogspot.com and this: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/life...ow_Leopard.zip)

The boot drive looks great now...but I still get the same result.

When I boot with -v I see this as the last error:

Sound assertion "0 == fMikeyDriver" failed in .../AppleHDADriver.cpp

followed by a bunch of similar errors.

Any ideas? I really need to get this back up and running ASAP...

I have a GB ep45-udep motherboard with a core2 quad cpu, 8g memory.

looks like i ever have a problem with you, i give up and start using ##### and installing it on my usb drive and it has no problem. i thought that installer is only for specified motherboard, not for universal type motherboard.
