Sound on my MSI P67A-GD55 with Realtek ALC892 not working on Snow Leopard 10.6.6. Had tried everything. Anyone please help.

This guy has your mobo and got everything working except audio. He also didn't have a DSDT.aml

Next is an example of getting ALC892 audio to work although not on your mobo. The method counts.

* ##### 2.6 retail 10.6.0 install, reboot with #####, install 10.6.6 combo

* after install boot again with ##### and prepare DSDT for this board (it is P43T, not P43) using DSDT Auto-patcher

* take your newly prepared DSDT and patch it again using HDEF_Gigabyte.zip from Autopacher page, this time adding HDEF for ALC892 [i don't think this step is needed for your mobo.]

* start ##### 3.2 and use UserDSDT method with your prepared DSDT, and include following choices

* Chameleon RC5 prerelease

* GraphicsEnabler=No - I mean really "No"! otherwise black screen

* LAN: Lnx2Mac's RTL81xx

* Audio: ALC8xxHDA macman, no need for enabler, but add 10.6.2 Rollback

Do you have a working patched DSDT.aml? Several sedtions are changed from the pristime DSDT.aml that one might generate using a live Ubuntu cd. One of the edits pertains to the audio behavior of your system. I think you need a patched DSDT.aml for your motherboard.

I'm convinced that MaLd0n has made a very good tool, the DSDT Auto-Patcher. Read the instructions.

The problem, you have a fairly new mobo, and it needs to be in the Auto-Patcher database for this to all work. http://www.kexts.com/view/904-dsdt_auto-pa...02-09-2011.html

Maldon says your mobo is supported: MSI: P67A-GD55, last modified Jan 29 So your mobo should be in the database which should include a patched audio section for ALC882.

Audio: ALC8xxHDA macman, no need for enabler, but add 10.6.2 Rollback

I've read that perhaps ##### 3.2 is better than 3.3 to apply this. Try to remove all the junk audio kexts and enablers lingering on your system that might cause a conflict. In any event, a good DSDT.aml is important.
