This is my first post, so it can only go here. Perhaps a mod would like to move it?? =]

After a combination of tons of help and reading all over this forum, I finally got my HP/compaq NC6400 to run native res (1200x800) with QE smoothly and stable. It'd be nice to reply to the winning thread to say thanks!

Anywho, the winning combo was nothing more than a carefully modified ATIRadeonX1000.kext (the key for QE) and RadeonHD.kext with the correct EDID enabled (necessary for native res.) The EDID, I'm almost certain, is specific to this laptop model. I wouldn't expect much luck if you try this on anything other than a laptop with a native res of 1200x800.

no natit, no injecters, no evoenabler were needed...after trying them all, without luck.

if you happen to have an NC6400:

I disabled dual core in BIOS,

installed iAtkos S3 V2 (booted setup with cpus=1) with the options found here in the HCL:

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...ortables#NC6400

It's important to keep in mind that there's two NC6400 entries there, one for the ATI gpu (mine) and another following for Intel GMA...two variations of the same model laptop. Important distinction to be made!

Following the vanilla install, the first thing I tackled was the ethernet, pretty simple dev-ID kext patch, and then combo-updated straight to 10.6.6 without a single hitch.

From there, if you have an ATI-based NC6400, you can just add these two kexts that i've attached without laying a finger on them, and be well on your way. next, i tackle the wifi.

nc6400ATI.zip

Although as pretty as native res and the QE effects may be, streaming videos (youtube, theberrics.com) can't seem to get working... i imagine this could be hardware buffer related. i'll tinker tomorrow and share my findings.

edit: i just had to update adobe flash... d'oh!

Hello, I have installed Iatkos3 V2 without a hitch on my NC6400. I have the Intel graphics and they work perfectly fine. The problem i am having is getting the ethernet to work. Could you please explain to me the steps you took to get the ethernet operational? What kext did you use? Could you explain how to dev-ID kext patch? I'm a fast learner so do not be alarmed =)

TIA.
