Geesu
Anything I can do? I have an nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Go It does not have Quartz 2D (at least starting quartz debug says it's not supported)... DOes this mean anything? What can I do to get it working? Thanks!!
StarForge
Currently even with the latest MacVidia driver nVidia cards on a hackintosh do not have support for Core Image or Quartz Extreme so no OpenGL and thus, slow screensaver draws and a few problems in other apps such as iMovieHD, etc. Until there is support, screensavers will all have a poor frame rate. Bryon
At this point the Macvidia driver are low level drives so no acceleration. In fact my 7800GS on my Athlon 64 is slower with screen updates than the Intel chipset on my P4. Plus the Intel works with "Graphics Mode"="1024x768x32@100" and the 7800GS with the same line is still 60Hz
Geesu
My nVidia card actually works GREAT with MAC OS X, I booted up and refreshes were fine... WHen I set it to 1400x1050 it still worked really well, although you could tell it wasn't the same quality is in windows.. But at some point I actually got a headache Not sure if it was from the screen or b/c I was hungry lol
OSX86tester
Ive actually tried all the tricks in the book so (i thought) and I myself experience a slow frame rate. screensavers are the worst. it just flickers along. hopefully one of the updates will solve that problem. Geesu
Yea it'd be nice if it worked, but I'm just happy that I can run OS X and it runs pretty damn good... Especially considering this laptop is like 3 years old How can you tell your framerate anyways?
