real_sinjon
Can someone pls help me with a problem I have trying to install on my desktop PC? I successfully installed the Myzar 10.4.5 iso on my IBM T40 Thinkpad no problem and everything works great, even the netgear wireless card. I'm now trying to install on my desktop which is an AMD Sempron 2800+ 64bit on an ASUS K8VXSE mainboard with 768mb ram. Problem is when I put the dvd in the drive it hangs as soon as the Darwin install message finishes, with the grey screen and no spinning star. So I tried using VMWare to see if I could do it that way. As soon as the DVD is recognised I get the message "System config file ' /com.apple.boot.plst' not found. I suppose this is what is affecting my native install attempt as well. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how I get round this? Thnks. LaminarFlow
You could try re-burning the DVD. I was getting errors booting from both my JaS and Goatse install DVDs, and I finally reburned the JaS image onto a new DVD, and it worked perfectly. The 'bad' DVD looked flawless on the back, but I guess it wasn't. ѕӎѳѳ₮ңӌ
Yes, i would try a reburn. Press f8 at the darwin screen and type -v, press enter and you get all the boot sequence, you can see where it went wrong. real_sinjon
Can't try a reburn yet as I deleted my image some time ago following successful install on the Thinkpad. If it helps anyone to id what the boot problem might be, I can try and copy all the text after using the F8 -v switch into here to the point where it hangs. How much of the text do you need to see? Are there any particular lines that may give a clue to the problem? The last line before it hangs is "AppleGenericPCATADriver: CMD 0x170, CTR 0x374, IRQ 15" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25100-install-problem/#findComment-170012 Share on other sites
