Hi, I would try the ##### again, then get ##### and install the Easy method. I think it automatically installs all necessary kexts to get you up and running. ##### and install alone is not enough. Another way is to boot into iAtkos DVD, choose the utils menu and select Chameleon or another bootloader to install to harddisk. Without that even an all in one distribution is not able to satisfy your needs. mulcyber
http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=201...SLanguage=en-us That is where you can download the user guide for your motherboard which is the type of resource you need to get Hackintosh working on your computer. In Windows, mostly all you have to do is change the boot order of your dvd in Bios. With a Hackintosh install, one nearly always needs to change other fields in the Bios. With Linux and Windows one often doesn't need to go searching for device drivers (kexts). http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t=#entry1500570 MaLd0n re: P6X58D-E " <a href="http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/</a> Tonymac have enough documentation." If you put 5870 in the Search box at the top of these posts, you will find people sharing their experiences in getting the 5870 to work. Don't forget to repair permissions and rebuild the cache after installing a kext. Kext Helper b7, is a good utility. Often Hackintosh can get two monitors to work, less often three. DSDT.aml : This reminds me a bit of the oldtime config.sys file that Windows used. I think you should obtain an (exact) one for your computer and use it in 'userdefined DSDT' in #####. MaLd0n recommends dsdt-autopatcher. Sometimes you can find a DSDT.aml for your system in a DSDT database. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.6.4 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) sus P6X58D-E Intel X58 / ICH10R CPU Intel i7 LGA1366 3.07 Ghz BIOS ver.0303, SATA in AHCI mode RAM 6 GB DDR2 1066 Mhz LAN Marvell 88E8056 Gigabit Audio Realtek ALC889 Firewire IEEE 1394 VIA VT6308 DVD SATA Harddisk SATA 2 TB Samsung Graphics Sapphire HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E Sleep works OK Mac OS X Update 10.6.5 OK (restore Audio) Boot partition must be < 1 TB for Chameleon 2.0 RC4 from [28] P6X58D_Premium_files.zip ##### 2.3 for support files It seems like some of the files for the P6X58D may also work?! Chameleon usually has a three parts. It has to be installed from the boot cd to the hard drive. Docs I've read say one file goes to the MBR, one to the boot sector of the partition and then there is a /boot folder created. Instructions from manual install, 1. Extract the Chameleon archive and open a Terminal window there. 2. Use sudo -s to assume root privileges. 3. Install boot0 to the MBR: fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk* 4. Install boot1h to the bootsector of your OS X partition: dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk*s2 5. Copy the ‘boot’ file to your root partition: cp boot / 6. Make sure your OS X partition is flagged as active. * = The HDD number in Disk Utility.
