Garbled screen ATI after 10.6.6

For those who update to 10.6.6 with ATI mobile graphics and get a mosaic type of garbled screen after reboot - the fix is simply to remove *X3000* and ATI5000* in the /System/Library/Extensions directory BEFORE rebooting.

 

Actually I renamed all of the the above kexts and bundles by changing the extension (rename with mv command) just in case but deleting has the same effect.

 

Acer 3820TG with i5 430m
