It counts down before the Grey window from 5... Press any key during this 5 second period, and you should get a chance to type a command, and type -v which will boot in Verbose mode. althoguh i'm still a noob, just using advice i've been gaven in here Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/250297-grey-screen-after-iatkos-install/#findComment-1649237 Share on other sites
Tmorr83
Use -v to see errors and -x to boot in safe mode. This way you can then fix what's causin the error. Mine was a root disk error. But after selecting different chipset drivers it worked. There is a lot of trial and error involved. klaus881
If it does not work, try to get the ##### CD from tonymac and boot from this one. Then get ##### and install some kexts or try to fix those kexts you installed with your distribution. ##### is nice, because it boots on most pcs Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/250297-grey-screen-after-iatkos-install/#findComment-1650023 Share on other sites
skinser
The only option I get is the Chameleon on the screen first and that allows me to choose either Win XP or the MAC OS, nothing at all allows me the option to type in either -v or -x. I'll get the ##### andMultiBeast discs and try them, unless someoen else knows of an option I can try. Thanks again. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/250297-grey-screen-after-iatkos-install/#findComment-1650877 Share on other sites
skinser
I have tried ##### and while I can boot and then change discs, I cannot resolve the issue of the grey screen. If I use -v I get only a blank/black screen, while I gfet to the grey screen if i use -x, but I never get past this point. I have downloaded ##### but do not see a way to use it without getting at least into safe mode. kaderkan
Change your configuration of hard drive in BIOS to AHCI. In the install of iATKOS don't forget to install AHCI SATA support.
