Evgenyy
Hi guys, I have installed and re-installed Snow Leopard on GA-EX58-UD5 several times and have been using it for a while without many problems. There is, however, one thing that really stops it from being a perfect Mac experience - my SATA performance is really bad and slows down the whole system constantly. I recently put in a 120gb OCZ Vertex 2e SSD and getting really low scores in Cinebench and transfer speeds are about 1/3 of what it should be. I noticed that my SATA hard drives are also slow. I have tried everything: various DSDTs (including modifying my own according to d00d's guide), different kexts etc. If anyone can shed any light as to what the problem might be, it would be much appreciated. My system: GA-EX58-UD5 (F12 bios) Core i7 920 6gb Corsair RAM GTX260 with EFI strings 8 SATA HDDs two of which are formatted with NTFS for Windows (I am using Paragon NTFS for r/w access) 120gb OCZ Vertex 2e
mimayin
I have the same board and the same issue, playing a movie causes the system to lag. Hopefully someone out there knows what the problem might be. I have an i7 quad 950 at 4ghz with 6gb of corsair XMS. I'm using kexts: HDAEnabler.kext IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext IONetworkingFamily.kext JMicron36xeSATA.kext LegacyHDA.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext fakesmc.kext I know there's an issue where sata is slower on ports 1-5 but I thought that was fixed. In any case my main disk is in sata/0 and it's still slow.
