No Sound on Dell Dimension 3000

Hi,

I used the Generic_OSx86_Install_DVD_release1, i now have dual booting with chain0 method, I have two hard drive on with xp and the other with Os x. everyhting works fine, but i have no sound. system properties show me, AC97 (PCM) sound, i get good input, i mean when i touch my mike, i can see the green slider moving, that would mean that the computer is picking up mike sound. but the line out is disabled. line seems to work as when i speak on the mike, i can see things moving in.

 

Can someone advice me on this. My mac runs fine, i have installed couple of softwares, like Adium, mozilla, and today, i will install MS office. I can see movies on quicktime and i guess everythings work well.

 

I have Dell dimension 3000, 512 ram, 80 gb HD, Intel Motherboard, first time i updated quicktime and my system messed up, i used Vmware to install os x on my computer then used the chain0 method in my boot.ini and when i booted up, i had two options and chose os x and bingo there i was big mac.

 

Booting up is couple of seconds, it's fast since i have a p4 with ss3 on it.

 

Please advice , do i need a patch for sound, i thought blender had patched things up for the marklar.iso

 

thanks in advance.if i get sound, osx is my default machine then. if someone wants a tutorial let me know, i will type it using my method. of cource, which i learnt from you guys, i learnt the vmware install the hardway and some other things which i figured myself.
