I'm not a programmer but I guess I know a little about the concept and from what I see with the mouse tearing issue I think I know a solution.

Is it possible to create a program that would refresh the screen every one second or something like that? I don't know if it would affect what your doing or not, but I thought maybe this could help? I'm not sure if it would be a resource hog either..

from proteo:

download mouse locator

1. Create a totally transparent PNG image of 20x20 px using PhotoShop or any similar software.

2. Save it in your Pictures folder (/Users/your_user_name/Pictures) with the name "MouseLocator.png" (without the quotes).

3. Open System Prefs -> Mouse Locator and deactivate-activate it. Voilà!

Thanks, I'm a little confused about this though. Where does the .png file come into play? I put it in its folderm but then I go to System Prefs, double click Mouse Locator the last part does not make sense. I deactivate it and activate it, but I see this huge green thing.

Thanks

The transparent .png replaces the "big green" .png and causes the screen to be redrawn around the cursor to remove the artifacts.

It works perfectly, thanks!
