korki696 Posted August 17, 2006 Share Posted August 17, 2006 ok so i want to format the hd of a pb g4 because the installation of the new OS isnt working so the hardrive is empty except a couple files from installation i guess. everytime i want to insert the first cd of OS X 10.4 cds it asks for the second one which isnt working. and i cant use disk utility while its installing with the second disk. pleas help me!!!! thanks -Korki- Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
-TiLT- Posted August 18, 2006 Share Posted August 18, 2006 Have you already tried to boot from the first installation-cd? You can either do that by pressing "C" when you hear the chime, or by holding down "alt" instead, to enter the menu for choosing the bootdisk. Otherwise, if you have no success with this, you can switch to target disk mode (hold down "t" when you hear the chime) and connect your PB on another mac via firewire and do the installation/format process with that mac onto your PB´s hd. edgarinc Posted September 16, 2006 Share Posted September 16, 2006 If the suggested comments don't work you can always download the Desktop (Live) Cd of Ubuntu for PPC and use the Gnome Disk Partitioner.
