I posted in Successes forum, but have not received any responses so I thought I would try to ask again in another forum. Here is my situation. I now have the vmware image set up on two different partitions on my dell box. I want to delete the original six GB vmware image, however, I am afraid that deleting it will make my new 80 GB vmware image stop working. My reasoning is that there are several folders missing in the root directory of my new partition. Here are a list of the missing folders:

bin

cores

etc

private

sbin

temp

private

usr

var

dev

I am assuming that these are not needed, and that when I did the CCC method of cloning my partition it just didn't copy them because I didn't need them. Furthermore, I am assuming these directories were added by deadmoo for his private use. Basically what I want to know is can delete the old 6 GB partition, thus getting rid of all these seemingly important files, without screwing up my new vmware partition? Can someone please shed light on this?

Thanks

P.S. please see the post in Successes entitled "Success in Expanding 6 GB but..." for more information

#1 Why didn't/don't you try to go native using the moron's guide by goober?

#2 Why not edit the virtual machine settings to add/remove the old 6 Gb partition and try to start your new 80 Gb partition. If that works, it obviously works without the old 6 Gb partition (which I suspect to be the case, but better be safe than sorry  ) ...when it works it's time for step #1, which you should in the first place since native simply beats through VMware emulation :D

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I tried that and it worked. I read your review of OSx86 running natively. Fine job. I think some of your problems, like your sound not working etc, might just be your hardware. Thanks again.
