mikrobi Posted February 22, 2011 Share Posted February 22, 2011 First of all my hard- and software: Mobo: Asus M2N4-Sli CPU: AMD X2 3800 GC: Nvidia GeForce 8600GT Sound: Onboard Chipset ALC850 Network: RTL8139Ethernet Mem: 4 GB Corsair XMS TWIN DHX CL5 PC800 OS: Hazard SnowLeopard 10.6.5 The system is working very well but i have problem because of my onboard-sound and i guess it is because of a kext. I have problem with 6-channel output. Sound is working after reboot but only in 2-channel and i just need my sound in 2-channel (AppleAC97Audio.kext installed). When i start Logic 8 Pro it scans the audio ports and apple au units. After quitting Logic 8 Pro the AppleAC97Audio.kext switch to 6-channel in audio-midi-setup with the result that the sound stops immediately. Every time this happens i have to select in audio-midi-setup the 2-channel output ...with the result that the sound comes back immediately. does anybody found a solution to stop the irritating procedure? mikrobi Posted February 25, 2011 Author Share Posted February 25, 2011 @iLeopod I deleted the AppleAC97Audio.kext and AppleHDA.kext but i dont have AC97Audio.kext. I also couldnt find a AC97Audio.kext in the whole internet. I installed VoodooHDA-2.7.2.pkg from http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/"]http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/ The result: No Sound. In System-->Audio: No device. So i installed the AppleAC97Audio.kext with Kexthelper b7 again. Then i found Sounddevice but also with the same problem: After closing Logic or GarageBand system automaticly switch to 6 Channel. Any solutions? I dont want to bye a PCI Soundcard or USB Soundcard! I think there is a solution for ALC850 onboard sound with only stereo support!!! Can you explain how to handle with that? mikrobi Posted February 27, 2011 Author Share Posted February 27, 2011 there is no device in Audio-Midi-Setup after install VoodooHDA-2.7.2.pkg. when i move back AppleAC97Audio.kext to system there is a device in Audio-Midi-Setup but i can´t delete it. there is no option for delete.anyway if i remove AppleAC97Audio.kext i cant hear sound!
