Hi.

I'm trying to install Snow Leopard on my AMD PC with following specs:

CPU: Phenom X2 550

MBO: Asrock A780GXH/128M

RAM: 4GB DDR2

GPU: ATI HD5850

Soundcard: Audigy 2

Other: PS2 keyboard, USB mouse, IDE DVD drive

I was following the Mohamed's AMD and Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.5 guide.

As I heard, there could be some problems when installing OSX from IDE drive, so I decided to use my USB HDD to restore OSX DVD to it, and tried to get the setup running from it.

When I use Mohamed's Boot CD 1.6 to run the setup, it hangs at this screen:

With Mohamed's AtiNforce boot CD, it hangs at this screen:

I managed to enter the setup with Nawcom boot CD 0.3, but it fails almost immediately:

This is the first time I'm trying to install OSX on my PC, so I'm kinda lost and don't know what to try next... :)

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, DVD drive is IDE. But I'm using it only to boot from Boot CD. OSX 10.6.3 setup is on a USB HDD.

I have 5 HDDs: 4 SATA and 1 IDE. The empty one (that is intended for OSX) is SATA, but I never got to the point of the setup where I would pick the HDD drive. Setup fails right after I choose the English language.
